About Will Hawkins

I’ve been hiking and travelling since I was a child. I started hiking as a teenager with my parents, and I’ve been doing it ever since. It’s a way to exercise, enjoy nature, and get some fresh air.

We walked in the Brecon Beacons and the South Downs before I went hiking in the Lake District as a teenager with friends. I spent a lot of my spare time as a child in the woods near my home, making dens and dams and camping.

My Dad encouraged my love of the outdoors by sending me on mountain courses in Snowdonia that taught me to climb and map-read.

Sailing was a part of growing up for me. On family holidays, we sailed around the English Channel to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

I sailed on yachts around the Mediterranean, sometimes getting paid and sometimes getting food. Sailing has helped me learn how to live in close quarters with other people and work well as part of a team.

I served as an officer in the British Army, first training at Sandhurst and then serving in Kenya, Northern Ireland and North America.

After my military service, I bicycled down Africa with my brother for a year. We cycled 17,000 kilometres and had many adventures.

I founded a digital marketing agency to help businesses attract more traffic and customers to their websites.

I hope my blog can help you enjoy your outdoor adventures safely, comfortably and adventurously.
